Charlie Berens

Charlie Berens at Robert Kirk Walker Theatre

Have you ever realized halfway into a conversation that you’re doing your best Wisconsin aunt impression, complete with the slow head-nod and ten ‘anyways’ before goodbye? Charlie Berens has built a career finding those exact moments. and then holding them up to the light so everyone in the room can see just how hilarious (and universal) they really are.

Planning to catch Berens at Walker Theatre in Chattanooga means treating yourself to more than a stream of punchlines. It’s a quick social study: a roomful of strangers, all checking if they also grew up measuring distance in hours, misreading weather, and insisting hotdish is different than casserole. The beauty? Even if your zip code’s nowhere near the Midwest, you’ll recognize at least one person you know in every bit.

This is a night out where even hard topics get softened by a well-timed pause and a friendly eye-roll. like a family reunion, but with fewer folding chairs and more chances to laugh (on purpose). Bring someone who claims they’re immune to regional comedy and give them twenty minutes before they’re nudging you: ‘That’s you. You do that.’

Take an evening for yourself and see how many of your family’s weirdest traditions pop up in Berens’ stories. Check ticket options for Charlie Berens and make a plan to go together.
