Cigarettes @ Sunset at The Parlour at The Signal - TN
A violin can turn a rock song on its ear. With Cigarettes @ Sunset, it belongs in the same room as the electric guitars, where it can cut through a loud passage or pull your attention toward a softer one. That contrast gives you something to follow before you even know the words. Cigarettes @ Sunset comes to The Parlour at The Signal in Chattanooga on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
Listen for Sarah Vann’s violin in the middle of the mix. It’s easy to assume you know what an Appalachian influence is going to sound like until you hear it next to drums and electric guitar. In person, you can decide which side of that combination draws you in. The mix makes more sense once you hear what the players leave room for in each other’s parts.
Their Possum Rock EP is a place to start if the name is new to you. Try it with a friend who comes at music from the other side of the aisle. The person who likes a fiddle tune and the person who shows up for punk can each bring an ear for something different.
