Honky Tonk Circus at The Barrelhouse Ballroom
A ’90s country song can bring back a whole car ride in the time it takes to reach the chorus. Jeremy McComb’s Honky Tonk Circus draws on that era. It’s a chance to hear the kind of country you remember with the friend who used to know every word before you did. Honky Tonk Circus comes to The Barrelhouse Ballroom in Chattanooga on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
McComb leads the show, so think of it as an evening built around the music of the period with a working entertainer in front of the band. If you know the records well, you have a head start. If you don’t, a chorus that sticks on the first listen is still a perfectly good reason to enjoy yourself.
The fun of a show built around familiar music is that you can pay attention to how somebody else handles it. Listen to the way a line is phrased or how the band gets from a verse into a chorus. You may remember what you liked about the song in the first place, or find something new in it.
