Post Animal

Post Animal at The Barrelhouse Ballroom

Try following one player in Post Animal for a while. There’s a good chance you’ll start paying attention to what the others are doing around them. Their psychedelic rock rewards that kind of listening, especially if you’re used to having the music on while you do something else. Post Animal comes to The Barrelhouse Ballroom in Chattanooga on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.

There’s a particular satisfaction in seeing a band make sense of a busy stretch of music together. You can watch for a cue, hear a part move to the front, then let your ear drift to what was supporting it all along. That’s the kind of thing you can miss when a record is on in another room. The fun is in noticing a small part before the rest of the song sweeps you along.

The band’s work on IRON brought the original lineup together in the studio. Listen to it before the show if you want to get a feel for how the players fit. Bring the friend who gets excited about an arrangement changing shape halfway through, and compare what each of you heard when you leave.
