Vienna Light Orchestra

Vienna Light Orchestra at Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul

The 4:30 performance gives you a December outing with the evening still open. The attraction is what happens inside the basilica: orchestral strings, five vocalists, and new seasonal arrangements against the glow of candles and illuminated trees. It’s a good way to hear familiar holiday music with your attention on the details. Vienna Light Orchestra comes to Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Chattanooga on Thursday, December 17, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.

Give the voices a turn even if you came for the strings. Part of the interest in a seasonal program like this is hearing how a melody takes on a different feel when it moves between instrumental and vocal parts. You can enjoy the glow around you and still have plenty to listen for with your eyes closed. The hour gives families another way to fit the show into December.

Take someone who likes to make an occasion out of an afternoon. You can hear the program together and decide what to do next without putting the whole evening on a schedule. Listen for an arrangement that surprises you, then find out if the person you brought heard it the same way.
